NEW! 3 Professional Development Opportunities for Educators

Posted by Deanna Zaucha on September 20, 2016

Over the years, Chalkable has evolved from focusing exclusively on student data to a partner in holistic student achievement.

To better commit to our partner promises, we have updated our annual State Seminars to Learning Summits. These summits have the format of functional training we’ve always offered, but are expanding to include collaboration with your peers, discussion of best practices, and the examination of the broader picture of education.

The education industry is constantly changing. From state reporting requirements, technology innovations, and state issues, education is evolving faster than most educators realize. By connecting with Chalkable and peers at these new Learning Summits, educators will have the opportunity to share successful methods with their counterparts and help each other with solutions for common issues, whether it is in an organized session or over lunch.

Chalkable Learning Summits will be occurring in two cities: Indiana and Illinois. And we have some amazing sessions lined up tailored to different educators.

So no matter if you are a District Tech Coordinator, Superintendent, Principal, Curriculum Director, or Teacher, these Learning Summits will have a session that can expand your training in a powerful way this year. Take a look:

Teachers

Building Quality Formative Assessments
Discuss the components of a quality formative assessment, including what a good question looks like. Review the importance of formative assessments in driving instruction and increasing academic achievement.

Individualizing Instruction Using Chalkable Study Center
Create individualized instruction by providing the ability to create Discussion Groups, Supplemental Assignments, and Graded Attachments within Chalkable Study Center. Engage students with opportunities to collaborate and practice skills "beyond the lesson."

Making Positive Changes - Improving Chronic Absenteeism, Achievement, and Behavior
Understand how to create a dynamic school environment that will ensure positive behavior of students, increase attendance and grades, and decrease discipline issues. Learn strategies to improve student academic achievement with the Learning Earnings platform.

Building Processes for Student Success
Every educator knows their school issues, but most cannot take that information and create a successful turnaround process. Join our presenters as they share “the good, the bad, and the ugly” about taking a failing school and district and turning their grade from F to A. Data will be shared that shows how Chalkable and teachers worked successfully through the dramatic process of school improvement, as well as the trials and tribulations that were faced.

Learning and Leading with Effective Data Meetings
What does an effective data meeting look like? Review best practices for data meetings as well as how data should influence classroom- and district-level decisions to make a bigger impact on students.

District Tech Coordinators

Help Your Teachers Develop Technology-Supported Instruction that Works
Educators must approach planning and implementation of technology-supported instruction using strategies that do more than automate what they would have done anyway. Learn ways to use the SAMR model to design learning activities that employ technology and make a difference in student learning.

Gaining Clarity in Student Understanding Using Study Center Assessment
Learn how to create questions and assessments within the Chalkable Study Center Assessment module. Assessments can be easily created and assigned to administer quizzes, exams, end of quarter reviews, and similar assessments directly to students.

Data Doesn't Have to Be Dull - Brighten it Up with a Panoramic View
Filter through standardized test scores to identify weaknesses in specific standards so that instruction can be adjusted accordingly. Receive hands-on training in viewing individual student, class, or school graphical data within Chalkable Study Center using the Admin Portal.
