Infographic: National Bullying Prevention Month and PBIS

Posted by Deanna Zaucha on October 04, 2016

October is National Bullying Prevention Month. Which means schools and organizations across the nation are encouraging communities to work to stop bullying by increasing awareness of bullying and its impact on children.

One in seven students are either a bully or a victim of bullying with 47% of incidents happening in school hallways. In an effort to lower these statistics, many schools are actively implementing positive behavior frameworks to improve school culture.

PBIS or Positive Behavior Invention and Support, is designed to enhance academic AND social behavior outcomes for students by organizing resources and systems to improve durable implementation fidelity.

The infographic below discusses the different frameworks where PBIS can be applied and the important impact it can have in students’ lives:

  1. Improvements in problem disciplinary behavior
  2. Increasing results of academic achievement
  3. Improvements in school climate
  4. Less student bullying behavior and peer victimization
  5. Improvement in organizational health

Chalkable has seen just how effective PBIS can be in schools with our own Learning Earnings Achievement Program solution. Learn more about implementing PBIS in your school in the infographic!
